About This Role
We’re looking for a College Counselor to join our growing company. This person will operate as an admissions expert who will guide students and families through the application process, building off the foundation of knowledge and organization provided through the Early Bird platform to build out personalized support for individual students and families. The depth and breadth of the work will depend on the student and family's needs, ranging from single sessions to sustained long-term working relationships.
You’ll work closely with a national team of counselors, writing coaches, academic and test prep tutors, and Early Bird team members to support students and families. In addition to compensation, you will have opportunities for networking and advancement within the company, specifically as we build out regional teams and an expanding organizational hierarchy.
Key Responsibilities
Meet the unique and variable needs of students and families, including but not limited to:
Academic planning and guidance
Standardized testing planning and guidance
Extracurricular planning and guidance
College list building
Application strategy
Narrative crafting
Application completion
Essay strategy
Decision support
Schedule via Calendly and conduct video calls via Zoom with students and parents interested in working with you.
Provide summaries of marketplace interactions for both student and parent use, as well as company records.
Attend group check-in calls twice per semester.
Promote and market both Early Bird College and College Counseling roles across social media.
Adhere to Early Bird College’s Rules of Engagement.

Early Bird College will also be looking to promote active, engaged, and qualified individuals to Regional Senior College Counselor roles or the Director of College Counselors, so ambition and desired interest in growing the role is a plus.
Required Qualifications
Experience working in the College Admissions field. Work as a College Counselor (either private or in a school setting) preferred.
Ability to take video calls in a professional location and with reasonable privacy. Access to a working, reliable computer and high-speed internet connectivity is essential.
Availability to schedule and execute a reasonable volume of meetings.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a 1099 position and can be supplementary to other full-time positions.
Compensation range: Compensation will be 50% of revenue generated, with two main formats:
50% of “a la carte, hourly” sessions
50% of retainer contracts
Current starting rates are $150/hr or $1,000/package, respectively
Our priority is to keep rates reasonable for our families and compensation strong for our employees, but rates are subject to change.
